Despite the late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly feeling the dress was “too white” for a divorcee, Meghan defended her choice, emphasizing its elegance and simplicity. Inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, the dress showcased Givenchy’s craftsmanship with six meticulously placed seams and a modern matte finish.

The gown was complemented by a five-meter-long veil embroidered with Commonwealth flora, held in place by Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara. Meghan added a personal touch by stitching a piece of fabric from her first date with Harry into the hem.

The ceremony featured a sermon by American bishop Reverend Michael Curry and saw King Charles walking Meghan down the aisle. The event marked a moment of unity and acceptance for Meghan into the royal family, with her dress becoming a symbol of timeless elegance.
