After facing accusations of first-degree rape and other sex-related offenses, former NBA player Ben McLemore was arrested. McLemore, who played 64 games for the Portland Trail Blazers two seasons ago, was taken into custody and booked into the Clackamas County Jail in Oregon on Thursday. According to reports from KGW8 in Portland, the 31-year-old was apprehended based on an outstanding warrant issued by the county before being transported to jail. McLemore is expected to appear for arraignment on Wednesday afternoon in Clackamas County Circuit Court, where he will face charges including first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said McLemore was arrested Tuesday morning on an outstanding warrant out of Clackamas County and transported to the Clackamas County Jail,” KGW8 reports.

“McLemore, 31, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Clackamas County Circuit Court. He faces charges of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.”

Ben McLemore enjoyed a nine-season tenure in the NBA after being drafted as the seventh overall pick in 2013 by the Sacramento Kings. Following his stint with the Kings, he ventured to various teams including the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers, before joining the Blazers.

During his time with the Blazers, McLemore showcased his skills, averaging 10.2 points while playing 20.1 minutes per game. However, after the 2021-22 season, he opted to explore opportunities overseas. Venturing abroad, he competed for teams in China, Greece, and Spain, with Rio Breogan of the Spanish Liga ACB being his final team.

Throughout his NBA career spanning 556 outings, McLemore maintained an average of 9.0 points per game, leaving a significant mark on the league.
