Prince Harry is scheduled to meet with a millionaire financier after acknowledging that King Charles’s schedule is too tight to accommodate a meeting, a move experts view as a significant snub indicative of their strained relationship.

Arriving in the UK solo from California, the Duke of Sussex is here for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London. Earlier today, he participated in an Invictus Games discussion titled ‘Realising a Global Community’ hosted by Louise Minchin at Armoury House.

While Harry had hoped to reunite with his estranged father, King Charles, during his visit, his spokesman confirmed that this won’t be possible due to the King’s busy schedule. Instead, Harry will meet with city financier Guy Monson, as confirmed by the Duke’s foundation Archewell.

This development has been met with criticism from royal experts, with Richard Fitzwilliams calling it a public rift that could have been handled better in private. Michael Cole described it as a significant snub, indicating the depth of the divide between father and son.

Despite Harry’s various commitments related to the Invictus Games, including an upcoming service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, it’s uncertain whether reconciliation with the Royal Family, particularly with Prince William and Kate Middleton, is on the horizon.

While Harry’s visit coincides with Charles’s weekly audience with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, it appears unlikely that father and son will have the opportunity to meet. William, in particular, is said to find his brother’s actions harder to forgive or overlook.

As Harry navigates this complex family dynamic, his focus remains on his Invictus commitments and commemorating the legacy of the games, despite the personal challenges he faces within his own family.
