Travis Kelce, now the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, became the target of Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes during his talk show on Tuesday. “Congratulations to Travis Kelce,” Kimmel began. “Travis signed a two-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs, making him the highest-paid tight end in the league.”

Kelce’s new deal adds $34.25 million to his existing contract, extending it through 2027. However, Kimmel quipped that this is “gum money” to Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who recently made Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List with an estimated $1.1 billion fortune.

“Can you imagine making $34 million and still being the broke boyfriend?” Kimmel joked, also congratulating Swift on her Billboard achievement of occupying all top 14 spots on the Hot 100 list with her new album *The Tortured Poets Department*.

Kelce’s mother, Donna, also expressed her support for Travis’s relationship with Swift on a special Mother’s Day episode of The Martha Stewart Podcast. She praised both for being generous and caring. “Time will tell,” she said about their future.

Donna also humorously noted her sons’ forgetfulness about Mother’s Day, despite their usual devotion and generosity. “They always remember my birthday and give wonderful gifts,” she shared.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have a lot to live up to, especially with Travis’s brother Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie setting the bar high. Donna praised Kylie as “amazing” and a key figure in their family.
