King’s Trust Charity Event Draws A-List Celebrities in New York
Prominent figures from the entertainment industry, including Kate Moss, Sam Smith, and Emily Ratajkowski, graced a glamorous event in New York on Thursday night in support of King Charles’ charity. The star-studded occasion marked the first major event since The Prince’s Foundation was rebranded as The King’s Trust.
Hosted by King’s Trust Global Ambassadors Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful OBE, the event featured a surprise performance by John Legend, who dazzled attendees in a white suit and bow tie.
The transition from The Prince’s Trust to The King’s Trust occurred in November last year, symbolizing Charles’s ascension to the throne. The Trust’s mission remains focused on supporting young people aged 11 to 30 in securing jobs, education, and training opportunities, with notable beneficiaries including actor Idris Elba, who received financial assistance to kickstart his career.
While Charles had expressed hopes for his sons, William and Harry, to take over The Prince’s Trust, William has since pursued his own philanthropic endeavors, particularly in addressing homelessness and mental health issues.
Despite his ongoing battle with cancer and undergoing treatment, King Charles recently returned to public duties, accompanied by Queen Camilla, as they visited the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre. His Majesty, serving as the charity’s patron, met with patients and staff, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to supporting cancer research and treatment.
