Prince Harry to Miss Duke of Westminster’s Wedding Amid Family Tensions

Prince William is set to take on the role of usher at his friend the Duke of Westminster’s wedding, an event dubbed the ‘society wedding of the year’. However, King Charles and Queen Camilla will not be attending, and Prince Harry isn’t even invited, highlighting ongoing family tensions.

Harry and Meghan have already been excluded from next month's wedding. Hugh is believed to have felt the Sussexes' appearance could cause tensions with the Royal Family

The King and Queen’s absence is linked to lingering grievances over a perceived slight at a previous family wedding. In 2004, at the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor’s sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor, to Edward van Cutsem, Camilla Parker Bowles, as she was then known, faced a seating snub. Royal protocol at the time dictated that Camilla would not sit with Prince Charles but several rows back and arrive separately. This slight, occurring when Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, along with Princes William and Harry, attended the ceremony, has not been forgotten.

Prince Harry is not on the guest list for his friend's marriage to 'avoid any royal tensions overshadowing the big day'. Neither he nor his wife Meghan Markle will attend, despite Grosvenor being so close to Harry that he is a godfather to the couple's five-year-old son Prince Archie

Prince Harry’s expected absence is due to concerns that his presence might cause awkwardness, potentially overshadowing the big day for Hugh Grosvenor and his bride-to-be, Olivia Henson, on June 7.

The decision for Prince Harry not to attend and the absence of the King and Queen underscore the ongoing complexities within the royal family, reflecting both historical grievances and current dynamics.
