Caleb Williams and Angel Reese are both set to start their professional careers in Chicago, with the Bears making the quarterback the first-overall pick on Thursday night and the Sky picking the former LSU Tigers star at No. 7 overall last week.
Having gotten there first, Reese took to social media to welcome the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner to The Windy City.

“DMV TIES! LET’S TURN THE CITY UP!! CONGRATS GANG! @CALEBcsw,” she wrote nearing the end of the first round.
Chicago fans have a lot to look forward to this year, with the city locking up two of the most skilled college athletes, with the NBA Draft still to come.
Reese jerseys were selling like crazy after the Sky picked her last week, but Williams Bears jerseys have already broken draft-night sales records as the QB crushed Caitlin Clark’s record a week after she set it.
The former LSU star is looking forward to beginning her career with the Sky and loves the direction the WNBA is moving.
“I think we’re going up right now. Being able to see so many different things with the networks, with the ticket sales, with the jersey sales, like, I think we’re in a really great direction and having support from your vets is amazing,” she told reporters.
Caleb Williams Has Praised Chicago’s Culture\
Meanwhile, Caleb Williams has been talking up the Bears culture, telling reporters it’s one of the biggest reasons he believes he’s joined the right organization.
“A big reason is I believe the culture that’s been building,” he said during a Zoom call, per the Chicago Bears‘ official website. “I would say the culture, the coaches, and that’s where it stems from. Then I’d also say the love and support that the fans have been giving. They’re ready, they’re hungry, they’re all excited, and so are we.“
The Bears have done their best to set Williams up for success.
Having traded for Keenan Allen earlier in the offseason, they drafted another top wide receiver on Thursday, taking Rome Udonze at No. 9. And, with several more rounds left in the draft, there are still more additions to be made.
