The WNBA is continuing to get blasted when it comes to salaries being dished out around the league.

The WNBA just had its biggest draft night in decades, and the league got torched after new fans found out how little top draft picks will be making over the next few years.

Caitlin Clark is set to make a $78,000 salary as the WNBA’s number 1 overall pick, which is about 137% less than the NBA’s number 1 overall pick. Victor Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick in last year’s NBA draft, signed a four-year, $55.2 million rookie contract.

The WNBA is now getting blasted once again as the league is hiring for a new Events Lead, and the price they are paying for that position is much higher than what Caitlin Clark and others are making.

The mid-to-senior level WNBA executive role is based out of New York City, and it will pay $140,000 to $160,000 per year. As you can see, it pays twice as much as what Caitlin Clark will earn as a rookie for the Indiana Fever.

WNBA fans quickly took to the comments and quotes to blast the league over this:

College basketball superstar Caitlin Clark is set to soar to new heights in the WNBA after she was taken with the No. 1 draft pick by the Indiana Fever.

Her starting salary is $76,535, less than what some NBA mascots reportedly earn. Last year, the NBA’s top pick, Victor Wembanyama, had a base salary of more than $12 million.

Her stardom has put new eyes on the pay discrepancy, and now many more have joined the fight to get the ladies paid a lot more in the future.
