The Caitlin Clark era in Iowa City is over.
The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer concluded her collegiate home games on Monday with a 64-54 victory in the second round, propelling the Hawkeyes to the Sweet 16 of the women’s March Madness tournament.
Being a No. 1 seed, Iowa hosted the initial two rounds of the tournament, where Clark delivered two electrifying performances for the Iowa fans, tallying 27 and 32 points in the respective games.

Clark, who has declared for the WNBA Draft, bid farewell to her Iowa fans in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Goodbye to my forever favorite arena,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the cherished memories at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. “The countless memories I have in this place will be cherished forever. See you in Albany, Hawk fans.”
Accompanying her message were 10 photos from games at the arena. While Iowa secured a convincing 91-65 victory against No. 16 Holy Cross, their win against No. 8 West Virginia was hard-fought.

The Hawkeyes maintained a 10-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but the Mountaineers launched a 10-0 run at the start of the quarter, tying the game with less than three minutes remaining. However, Clark and the Hawkeyes responded with a 12-2 scoring spree in the final minutes to secure the victory.
Next, in Albany, Iowa is set to square off against No. 5 Colorado on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. With three wins separating them from a second consecutive national championship, the Hawkeyes are poised for another impressive postseason run, aiming to redeem last year’s loss to LSU.
