The NCAA record points holder is finally kicking off her WNBA career
Caitlin Clark is currently one of the most highly-anticipated talents in all of sports at the moment so it’s natural that her first day in training with the Indiana Fever immediately went viral online as fans clamour to answer: “Is she ready for the WNBA?”
Selected as the overall first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark is under immense pressure to step up and perform from the get-go to help spur the Fever on to become future WNBA champions, something Clark is desperate for after failing to win the national championships in the NCAA.
In the video posted online, Clark features in a three-woman weave along with Aliyah Boston, another highly rated talent, in the opening day in what is initially thought to be a brief introduction in a relatively slow training camp.
But she already looks comfortable, which is a good sign, and it means that she could potentially translate her talents from the Iowa Hawkeyes to become the Fever‘s go-to point guard.
When does the WNBA season begin?
Clark will be absolutely eager to hit the court for the first game of her professional career after being picked as the best talent in the 2024 class, which also featured Kamilla Cardoso, Cameron Brink and Angel Reese.
In fact, Reese and Clark will even showdown in preseason as the Indiana Fever travel to the Dallas Wings to open the campaign on Friday, May 3, at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
But for Clark, she will truly kick off her season on Tuesday, May 14 versus the Connecticut Sun at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville (CT) at 19:30 ET (16:30 PT) with the game being broadcast live by ESPN2.
Clark will be a regular fixture on cable as 36 of the Fever’s 40 games will be televised or available for streaming online. Games can be watched through the WNBA’s League Pass and approved broadcasting partners such as ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Amazon Prime Video, CBS and CBS Sports Network, NBA TV and Ion Television.
