Angel Reese standing up for young athletes after fellow WNBA stars explicit AI images
Earlier this year, Angel Reese was the victim of explicit photos being made of her with the use of AI. After some of the other top stars in women’s basketball were caught in a similar situation, the recent top pick came to their defense.
There have been countless examples of NSFW photos being made of celebrities with the use of AI. Some of the latest targets include No. 1 WNBA draft pick Caitlin Clark and UConn star Paige Bueckers.
Understanding what it’s like to be a victim of this, Angel Reese took to social media to share her thoughts on the matter. She’s calling out for more things to be done to protect young female athletes.
It’s worth noting that all three of these women are still young. Reese will turn 22 in May, while Clark and Bueckers are already that age. As two of these women get ready to start their professional careers, they have to deal with fake explicit photos of them going viral online.
Along with Reese speaking out, many fans have spoken out against such images being made and leaked all over social media.
Angel Reese reacts to explicit AI photos being made of her
As mentioned before, this is a situation Angel Reese knows all too well. Before Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, these explicit AI photos were being made of her.
In March, Reese once again took to social media to let her voice be heard. After seeing fake photos of this nature going viral online, she shared her thoughts on such a thing being done. Reese admitted that it’s weird and she doesn’t like being sexualized in this manner.
Angel Reese burst onto the scene in 2022, when she transferred from Maryland to LSU. Along with being one of the highest NIL earners in college sports, she had an immediate impact on the court. In her first season at LSU, Reese helped lead her team a national championship.
Coming off a senior season, where she averaged 18.6 points and 13.6 rebounds, Reese had a difficult decision to make. She could remain in college for one more year or declare for the 2024 WNBA draft. Reese opted for the latter, where she was a top pick.
Reese ended up being one of the two prospects the Chicago Sky selected in the top-10. After selecting Kamilla Cardoso third overall, they took the LSU star a few picks later, at No. 7.
