Rick Ross and Paige Bueckers met during Heat vs Bulls
UConn Huskies’ Paige Bueckers was in Miami on Saturday to witness the Miami Heat take on the Chicago Bulls in a big-ticket NBA clash. The game was held at the Kaseya Center and had many celebrities in attendance.
Rapper Rick Ross, who is worth a staggering $150, per Celebrity Net Worth, was also at the game. Bueckers was spotted getting her picture taken with the music icon.
In a video trending on X, she was seen shaking hands and having a short chat with Rick Ross. College basketball fans couldn’t help but react to the two celebrities from different fields and stages in their careers catching up: “Fame recognize Fame”
Some fans pointed out that she had met another famous rapper, Waka Flocka Flame, the previous day.
“She ain’t exactly with him. They’re both at the heat game.. so they took a picture together and then went back to their separate seats. I promise you, he wasn’t trying to hang out with either one of them. He barely shook their hands after the picture,” stated one fan.
“Rick Ross had no idea who she is,” said another.

Bueckers recently announced her return to UConn after forgoing WNBA draft eligibility. In the 39 matches she played for them in the 2023-24 season, she averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game and was named the Big East Player of the Year.

Paige Bueckers’ Miami visit has been full of meet and greets with celebrities. She did not just click a picture with rapper Rick Ross but also met Waka Flocka the previous day.
In an interview with the Miami Heat, she talked about her meeting with Flocka and mentioned that he didn’t recognize her at first:
“Honestly, I just went up and ran up to him and asked for a picture. He didn’t recognize me until after I tagged him on Instagram post and then we kind of chatted it up. we both said we were fans of each other,” said Bueckers about the meet.
Paige Bueckers is one of the top draws remaining in college basketball after the recent WNBA draft and all eyes will be on her in the upcoming season.
