Clark was the top pick of the WNBA Draft and DeJean should go in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night. Apparently, some NFL executives and coaches are interested in knowing how he stacks up against the highest scoring player in major D1 basketball history.
“I wouldn’t say it’s weird but a lot of teams have asked me if I could beat Caitlin Clark one-on-one. I said I think I can. She’d probably score a few buckets on me but I could pull it off,” DeJean revealed in a clip shared by Yahoo Sports.
Yes, teams want to know if the talented defensive could beat the most famous female basketball player in the world.
She would likely get mauled. DeJean plays the game a solid foot above the rim. Check out his incredible high school highlights below.
I can’t believe there’s anyone out there who thinks Cooper DeJean couldn’t dominate a Clark or any other WNBA player. He’s 6’1″ with a 38.5-inch vertical leap.
That’s an outrageous level of athleticism, and it’s why he’s probably a lock for the first round. Meanwhile, Clark is 6’0″ and while her vertical leap isn’t public, I can tell you for a fact, it’s not north of three feet.
Cooper DeJean would destroy Caitlin Clark one-on-one, and that’s not meant to diminish Caitlin Clark. Clark is the most exciting women’s basketball player I’ve ever seen. I’m a huge fan. She’s an unbelievable talent, but what is she going to do to stop DeJean from soaring over her?
The answer is nothing. Not a single thing.
