The all-access ESPN+ documentary Full Court Press has shed light on many of the big moments of the NCAA women’s basketball season behind the scenes.
One thing that has become very clear is that LSU’s Angel Reese was public enemy No. 1, as teams like national champion South Carolina celebrated her bad games more than their own success.
After the Gamecocks beat Kim Mulkey’s squad in their first matchup of 2024, video from the locker room captured the unsavory celebrations.
Dawn Staley was about to give her team a post-game message, when an assistant coach interrupted to inform everyone that “Angel ain’t get her double-double.”
The team erupted, taking joy in the demise of LSU’s star player caused by their strong team effort. If Reese sees the clip, she might have some questions for Kamilla Cardoso, who joined the team in celebrating Reese’s failure, but is now her WNBA teammate with the Chicago Sky.
Full Court Press exposes truth about LSU’s Reese
It’s ironic that the documentary, which controversially chose not to feature Reese alongside Caitlin Clark and the Gamecocks’ Cardoso, ended up with the Bayou Barbie as the main character on several occasions anyway.
In other words, “Angel lives rent free,” as a comment under the video on TikTok pointed out.More than anything, it proved why Angel Reese gets so much hate: deep down, her many adversaries on and off the court respect her impact and want to slow it down.
