Caitlin Clark has officially brought her talent to the WNBA, and fans wasted no time in searching for this.
According to Front Office Sports, search traffic for the WNBA’s Indiana Fever surged following Caitlin Clark’s announcement. Commercial rights for WNBA teams have seen a significant increase in traffic from a specific state: Iowa.
But just because the Fever have been the WNBA’s worst team over the past two seasons, it doesn’t mean that they’re completely devoid of talent. Aliyah Boston won WNBA Rookie of the Year and WNBA All-Star honors while veteran Kelsey Mitchell also earned a spot in the All-Star Game.
Iowa fans should be thrilled not just because Clark is going to the WNBA, but because she’ll be reasonably accessible for fans to see her games in person. At 360 miles from Iowa City, Indianapolis is the third-closest WNBA city to their state.
That alone could provide a major boost to Fever attendance in 2024.
The 2024 WNBA Draft takes place on April 15 at Brooklyn Academy of Music.
