Former LSU Tigers standout Angel Reese was selected #7 overall in last week’s WNBA draft by the Chicago Sky, wasting no time in making her first purchase as she gears up for her professional career.

Starting a new chapter in Chicago means acquiring a new set of wheels to navigate the city streets, prompting Reese, affectionately known as the famed Bayou Barbie, to trade in her old vehicle for a brand-new Mercedes Benz.

She bid farewell to her old car on Instagram with the caption: “BYE BYE TO MY FIRST EVER BABY, BUT IT’S TIME TO UPGRADE YA TO THE BIG BARBIEEEEE”

Reese, a prominent figure in the Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) landscape, revealed her AMG G-Class SUV on her Instagram Story during her time in Illinois this week.

The luxurious car, featuring a red Nappa leather interior and black rims, comes with a starting price tag of $183,000, according to Mercedes-Benz.

“NEW CITY. NEW BEGINNINGS. NEW BIG BODY BARBIE BENZ.”

Reese recently acquired a white Mercedes Benz 2024 AMG 63 SUV equipped with an automatic transmission, five seats, and a load capacity of 38.1–68.6 cubic feet. Powered by an AMG 4.0LV8 biturbo engine producing 577 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, it’s a statement of both style and performance.

Angel Reese had an impressive tally of 17 different NIL sponsorship deals during the 2022-2023 season, according to a March 2023 Sports United report. That number grew even larger with the recent release of the Name, Image, Likeness Marketing Partnerships 2023–24 report, revealing Reese had the second-most NIL endorsements over the past year with 26 deals, tied with UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin.

While no longer competing in college athletics, Reese’s partnerships will continue to expand, ensuring her ongoing impact in professional sports.

Additionally, Angel Reese has been vocal about her support for women’s sports following a controversial decision, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference beyond the court.
