Former South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso, selected as the No. 3 overall pick by the Chicago Sky on Monday evening, joins a distinguished list of players drafted from Dawn Staley’s program. Cardoso, who spent three years with the Gamecocks after beginning her collegiate career at Syracuse, boasts an impressive resume, including two National Championships and numerous accolades.
In the 2023-24 season, Cardoso averaged 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while also blocking 82 shots. Her outstanding performance earned her the title of SEC Defensive Player of the Year and a second team All-American selection by the AP.
