The Caitlin Clark Phenomenon - The New York Times

The new Indiana Fever guard has been the target of relentless online abuse from AB and has had enough of the former NFL star’s behavior.

Brown has been targeting Clark on Twitter for weeks, with many of his posts implying derogatory remarks about her. He has made a habit of trolling people online and has a “Cracker of the Day” theme in which he singles out someone he believes deserves criticism daily.

Caitlin Clark finally took action this Thursday by blocking AB on the platform following a prolonged period of unwarranted abuse. Brown shared a screenshot showing that he had been blocked by Clark on Thursday morning.

AB’s tweet about Clark on Wednesday seems to have been the final straw. The 35-year-old shared a post suggesting inappropriate things about Clark and adding a popular scene from the ‘Scary Movie’ franchise later on.

Antonio Brown claims to be on a generational run, according to himself. He frequently tweets about it, but whether or not he is depends on your perception. As for Caitlin Clark, she’s actually on a generational run. The former Hawkeyes star left college basketball as its highest-ever scorer.

Her NCAA Tournament games brought record numbers in viewership, while her national title game against South Carolina was the most-watched final in women’s history. Even the WNBA Draft was the most-watched of all time.

Clark is also poised to sign a lucrative eight-figure endorsement deal with Nike ahead of her debut pro season and will likely be playing in signature shoes. She’s really on quite the run.
