Clark applauds

After Michael Che made a sexist joke about Caitlin Clark during a Saturday Night Live show, suggesting her retired jersey should be replaced by a kitchen item, she responded by baking him a humble pie.

Che, who joined SNL as a writer in 2013 and later became a cast member, co-hosts the “Weekend Update” segment alongside Colin Jost. His comedy style is known for its sharp wit, observational humor, and willingness to address controversial or taboo subjects.

“The University of Iowa,” Che said on the show. “Announced that basketball star Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired and replaced with an apron.

“I am a fan, Caitlin, by the way.”

Clark roasts Che

Clark, known for her prowess on the basketball court and expected to be the top pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has also shown a knack for comedy. In a playful turn, she had Che read out some jokes she wrote at his expense, ensuring a moment of embarrassment for the comedian on national television.

“The Indiana Fever have the first pick in this Monday’s draft,” Clark wrote and Che read. “A reminder that Indiana Fever is a WNBA team and not what Michael Che gave to dozens of women at Purdue University.”

“Netflix’s top new show is Ripley, featuring an eerily, unsettling performance by actor Andrew Scott,” He then said on Clark’s behalf. “Critics say it’s the hardest thing to watch on Netflix since Michael Che’s special Shame the Devil.”

The Women’s NBA Draft 2024 will take place on Monday, April 15 with the selections beginning at 19:30 ET at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
