LeBron James on Stephen Curry: 'It's been a treat to go against one of the greatest to ever play this game' | HoopsHype

LeBron James, the Lakers superstar, boasts one of the most illustrious careers in basketball. His journey in the NBA began with challenges despite his remarkable talent. Skipping college, he transitioned directly from high school basketball to the professional league.

Bron often reflects on the college basketball experience he missed out on, expressing a desire to have played for the Cincinnati Bearcats.

LeBron James expressed interest in joining Bob Huggins’ Cincinnati Bearcats.

During the “Mind the Game” podcast, LeBron James, the four-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers superstar, disclosed his desire to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats. His revelation sparked discussions among fans about the potential what-if scenario, given that Bron never had the chance to play college basketball.

I loved Cincinnati. I remember as a kid watching it. When I was growing up I wanted to go to Cincinnati because of the uniforms and because of Huggs,” said James. He revealed that he loved the uniform and it was one of the reasons that made him want to play for them. However, his prime reason for desiring to play for them was the head coach of the Bearcats at that time, Bob Huggins.

Why does LeBron dislike college basketball?

LeBron James entered the NBA straight out of high school, bypassing the NCAA experience. However, a new rule emerged two years after his draft declaration, prohibiting athletes under 19 from entering the NBA draft. This mandated players to partake in at least one year of unpaid college basketball.

James however, has expressed his displeasure with the system and thinks that it is “corrupt“. “I am not a fan of the NCAA. I love watching March Madness. I think that is incredible. I am not a fan of how the kids do not benefit from any of this, so it is a fine line I have got a couple of boys that could be headed in that direction, so there are going to be some decisions that we as a family have to make,” said Bron.

James criticized this system in 2018 during his tenure with the Cavs, arguing that it didn’t serve the best interests of young athletes. He pointed to his sons as examples, suggesting that they might face similar decisions regarding their basketball careers, prompting family discussions.
