Angel Reese apparently now excited to play alongside Kamilla Cardoso | Marca

Dwayne Wade recently weighed in on the impressive chemistry displayed by Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso during their preseason debut for the Chicago Sky. The dynamic duo took to the court against the Minnesota Lynx in their preseason opener, showcasing their potential on Friday.

Reese, a former standout at LSU and a 2023 national champion, wasted no time finding her groove despite the team facing initial challenges. As part of the starting lineup alongside Elizabeth Williams, Diamond DeShields, Marina Mabrey, and Dana Evans, Reese emerged as a formidable presence on the court.

In her 24-minute stint, Reese showcased her versatility by tallying 13 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and a block, demonstrating why the Sky coveted her in the draft.

On the other hand, Cardoso, hailing from South Carolina, also made an immediate impact before her night was cut short due to an unfortunate injury. Despite the setback, Cardoso’s early contributions left an impression, as she managed to accumulate six points on 3-of-5 shooting, along with four rebounds and two blocks in just 13 minutes.

Although the Sky narrowly fell short in their preseason match (92-81), the synergy between Reese and Cardoso hinted at promising prospects for the team. Reacting to their performance, Dwayne Wade took to Twitter and shared his optimism, stating, “Just the beginning!” This endorsement suggests that the Sky’s dynamic duo is poised for success in the upcoming season.
