In a move sure to raise eyebrows, singer Christina Milian bared all – well, almost all – on the latest episode of her E! show, “Christina Milian Turned Up.” The 34-year-old went through the undeniably painful process of getting a butt wax, filmed for the reality TV cameras.

Milian explained the motivation behind the intimate procedure: a rekindled romance with rapper Lil Wayne. “I’m feeling like a new woman,” she declared, “Wayne and I are back together and so I figured it’s time to get a new look from top to bottom.” Her enthusiasm didn’t quite mask the impending discomfort, though. The episode featured Milian with a grimace as she climbed onto the waxing table, surrounded by staffers wielding hot wax.

The cameras didn’t shy away from the details. Milian’s tattoos were on full display as she lowered her pants and positioned herself for the wax. Despite the obvious pain, she managed to capture a few selfies while enduring the treatment, adding a touch of humor (or perhaps desperation for ratings) to the situation.

The episode also delved into the couple’s rocky relationship. Milian revealed a recent break-up with Lil Wayne, triggered by a lie (involving another woman) on the rapper’s part. “It was kinda like, it was the first time that it actually really really hurt me this time,” she confided. However, Lil Wayne seemed to be working his way back into her good graces. The show featured him sending flowers to Milian after a fight, a possible olive branch towards reconciliation.

Milian isn’t the only reality star to embrace the somewhat cringe-worthy trend of documenting personal grooming procedures. Lisa Rinna of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” famously allowed cameras to film her getting a daring (and frankly TMI) wax treatment in a thong on her bedroom floor.

Whether Christina Milian’s televised wax job was a genuine expression of her rekindled love life or a ratings ploy is debatable. One thing’s for sure: it certainly generated buzz and offered a glimpse into the sometimes bizarre world of reality TV.
