The celebrated rapper has time and again shown his love for the four-time champion LeBron James, even naming him the Greatest Of All Time over other exemplary figures like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

However, just like everything else has a replacement, even James will someday have to say goodbye to his beloved sport and someone else will have to become the next face of the NBA. So when the  hitmaker was recently asked who could potentially take up the place of the Los Angeles Lakers’ power forward, he replied Ja Morant is the best one for the job despite his numerous controversies.

Lil Wayne is a regular at NBA games and very vocal too. The rapper, on a recent appearance on the podcast (via Bleacher Report), had stated that LeBron James was the GOAT, much to the shock of many fans.

While James is certainly one of the best NBA has ever seen, still going strong at the age of 38, he would inevitably have to retire one day. So when Lil Wayne was asked during his recent conversation with Taylor Rooks, who would be the best player to take on James’ mantle, he replied (via X),

 

While there is no doubt that Morant is an exceptionally stellar player, he has been among the most controversial NBA players of recent times. The Memphis Grizzlies point guard recently came back after a 25-game suspension following his brandishing a firearm on Instagram Live. While this wasn’t the first time he had done such an act, his past before his suspension also saw him get into arguments several times (via Forbes).
