Angel Reese has openly invited Michael Jordan to come watch a Chicago Sky game ahead of the start of the 2024 WNBA season next week, as the ex-LSU star revealed that she’s never met the NBA legend.
Touching base on several topics ahead of the Sky’s first game of the new season against the Dallas Wings on May 15, the rookie forward, who turned 22 on Monday, shared her desire to hopefully chat with the former Chicago Bulls guard – a six-time NBA champion – one day soon.
‘There are so many great players that have come before us here. Candace [Parker] being retired. Michael Jordan,’ Reese told WGN News.
‘I want Michael Jordan to come to a game. I’m telling you right now. I want Michael Jordan to come to a game.
‘I’ve never met him! That’ll be the first time,’ she added.

Amid controversy that the one of the Sky’s pre-season games didn’t feature on the WNBA’s League Pass, last week, Reese – the seventh overall pick of this year’s draft – will need to hit the ground running early on, as the Sky’s other star Kamilla Cardoso faces four-to-six weeks on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.
Cardoso got hurt in the Sky’s 92-81 defeat against the visiting Minnesota Lynx on Friday, which was widely watched on a fan’s livestream after the WNBA was unable to broadcast the matchup.
Cardoso left the floor just 13 minutes into the matchup after putting up six points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.

Meanwhile, Reese attended the 2024 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for her birthday on Monday.
Furthermore, she can expect large crowds to watch her on this season, as WNBA tickets sales on StubHub are up 93 percent.
The increase followed StubHub’s record sales for the women’s NCAA Tournament and for the 2023 WNBA Finals, spokesperson Adam Budelli said, earlier in May.
The highest ticket demand was for the Las Vegas Aces, who host three of the top 10-selling games. A total of six Aces season tickets, starting at $906 for 20 home games, remained. Overall sales for the Aces have nearly tripled (up 190 percent) compared with this time a year ago.
