Kate Marti pn and others attended Golden Herkeys.

The event, coordinated by the Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (ISAAC), offers student-athletes the opportunity to honor their peers and commemorate the achievements of the past year through various awards. All participants were elegantly dressed for the occasion, which took place on Monday. Feuerbach opted for a pink dress paired with white sandals.

Affolter, recipient of the Women’s Breakthrough Athlete award, sported a sage green satin dress accessorized with beige heels. Jada Gyamfi chose a pearl blue dress matched with white sandals.

Kate Martin, the talented Las Vegas Aces guard and former leader of the Iowa Hawkeyes team, clinched the Hawkeye of the Year award. Caitlin Clark secured the Record Breaking Performance accolade. Martin expressed her joy after unexpectedly being chosen by the Aces in the WNBA draft.

While many anticipated Caitlin Clark’s selection as the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA draft, there was additional cause for celebration as Kate Martin was selected as the No. 18 pick by the Las Vegas Aces.

I’m really happy to be here. I was here to support Caitlin. I was hoping to get my name called, all I wanted was an opportunity and I got it,” Martin said.

In the 2023-24 season, Martin averaged 13 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. In her career, she has amassed 1,230 points, 718 rebounds, and 469 assists.
