Some players just have an “it” factor and Kate Martin is one of those players. As a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team she endeared herself to fans with her gritty, tough, hard-nosed play. It is what got her drafted in the second round of the WNBA Draft by the Las Vegas Aces.
It is also what led to her sticking on the roster against some heavy odds going against her. She isn’t afraid to make the tough play and she is always in the right spot at the right time. She showed that once again in her WNBA debut last night.
Martin played a whopping 26 minutes which shows the confidence the Aces have in her. She registered three points, five rebounds, and three assists which encapsulates her willingness to do whatever it takes. She added on a block that had the crowd and the rest of the Aces pumped up.
