Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone praised his side for their impressive 115-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 of the conference semifinals of the playoffs. He noted that the opposing team should never underestimate the skills of the previous champions and that the Nuggets, despite being tested multiple times, have found a way to win challenges.

Never underestimate the heart of a champion. They were quick to write us off. They were quick to write us off, but these guys, we won a championship a year ago. We went into Miami and won two games in a row. This team has been tested time & time again, & we found a way to solve whatever’s been thrown at us.” Coach Malone said in a post-game interview.

Malone emphasized that while the series is now tied, the team has not taken the lead yet and is not celebrating the win. He also confidently stated that the Denver Nuggets are fully prepared for game five and are determined to take the lead in the series.

This series is a long way from being over. We’re not celebrating. It’s 2-2, but what I found about our group is that they do believe in themselves. More importantly, they believe in the man next to them. We have a group that is acting as you would hope a championship team would act. They had a bad game, we owned it and we moved past it and we played better.

What next for the Denver Nuggets?

The Nuggets were crowned champions last year after defeating the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Additionally, in the round 1 series of the current season, they eliminated LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be eager to make a comeback. Minnesota won two consecutive games against Denver at the beginning of the series. Game 5 of the conference semifinals is scheduled for Wednesday at Ball Arena.
