In the first ten minutes of action in Cleveland, Clark scored eighteen points, including a fierce 3-pointer in the last minute against Gamecocks standout Kamilla Cardoso.

Clark surpassed Maya Moore and Chamique Holdsclaw, who previously held the record of 479 career tournament points. It was the highest point total a player had ever put up in a championship game quarter.
